What Giardia in dogs are: Giardia (Giardia duodenalis) are microscopic small-intestinal parasites that can cause digestive problems such as watery diarrhea in dogs. These single-celled parasites are transmissible and are among the most common gastrointestinal parasites in dogs worldwide.

Biology and life cycle of Giardia

Giardia duodenalis (syn. G. intestinalis, G. lamblia):
